Product profile: Zero petrol

We’ve covered a few electric scooters over the last few years, and a recent entrant, Benzine Zero (Italian for zero petrol) has added some nice looking offerings to the market.

There are four models on offer. The Duo is a utility bike suitable for all sorts of general purpose work, from commuting to deliveries, with a top speed of 45 km/h and a range up to 109 km. The Duo+ version is the same scooter, just with more power and upgraded braking, with a top speed of 65 km/h and a range of 95 km. The City (shown in photo) is a sub-50 cc equivalent scooter that’s ideal for low-speed commutes (45 km/h top speed) with a range up to 80 km. The Sport, as you might expect, has more sporty lines and a bit more go, with a top speed of 80 km/h and a range of around 131 km. Lastly, there’s the Cargo, a 70 km/h three-wheeler designed as a delivery vehicle, with a range of up to 80 km.

City and Duo are classified as a mopeds (LA class) and can be ridden with a car licence in QLD, SA, NT and WA. The others will all need a motorbike licence.
The Benzina Zero range are planned for March 2022, so they should be available by the time you read this.

RRP
Preliminary pricing for the range is $4250 for the City, $4650 for the Duo, $5250 for the Duo+, $7250 for the Sport and $15,490 for the Cargo.
